The Beauty of Starting Over January 1, 2009

I love it when a new year begins.  Today all 4 of slept late b/c even little Addison rang in the new year with us.  I love the first day of January.  I start cleaning out closets, opening up new devotionals, writing down to-do lists and resolutions.  I may not get any of them accomplished, but I love the beauty of getting to start fresh.  It's like what God does to us each day, each breath really.  He gives us another chance to live for Him, to do it right, to do it well.

I pray 2009 will be the year when Jesus is so evident in every part of my life that others will be drawn to Him.  That's a mighty big prayer.  But I fervently want it to be so.

I asked Cam what his resolutions were.  In his usual way, he just smirked and said, "To live exactly like I have for the last 8 years."  I guess if you've got it, you've got it.  Where did he get that kinda confidence.

When we first got married, I made Bryan's resolutions for him.  Now I know better.  I think he appreciates that.

Hopefully, this will be the year I....arrive at destinations on time (whew! is it possible), keep friendships, stay organized, stay energetic, get all my kids to pass TAKS (just as easy as crossing the Red Sea, and get beautiful - inside and out.  Oh well, it's a dream list.  We'll see.
